Being ‘nice’ has nothing to do with inviting a culture of discourse, which can lead to the proper way of teasing out new ideas. Having a culture supportive of creativity can be created in a cordial way. Nice or not nice has absolutely nothing to do with creativity in the workplace much less innovation.
It seems that the article is attempting to create a correlation between being ‘nice’ and your ability to make effective decisions at work and foster creativity.
